Digital Printing
1) Our management team are working as a group on ‘Waste Minimisation’ at the point of production.
- a) Emphasis is on printing the job correctly the first time to reduce waste.
- b) All waste materials are separated at the point of production and all suitable paper is saved and collected by a Recycling company.
- c) Cardboard packaging and paper cores are recycled.
- d) We are working with our suppliers to recycle all their wooden pallets.
- e) We collect plastic end bungs from our paper rolls for return to the supplier.
2) We have a programme for economising on water consumption:
- a) Cisterns and urinals have water saving devices.
- b) Water taps have automatic cut-off systems.
3) Our transport policy is under review. Vehicles are replaced with ‘low emission’ vehicles as they are renewed.
4) Accounts and Sales Office
- a) All offices have paper re-cycling bins as well as general waste bins.
- b) Paper from laser printers, faxes etc., is padded and the reverse used for notepads.
- c) Toner cartridges are collected for recycling.
- d) Old catalogues and brochures are recycled.
5) We have a policy to only purchase print devices from companies who conform to iso standards and whose machines are environmentally friendly, we have recently purchased an Oce cps900, this machine is a digital colour printing device that omits no ozone during the print process and is largely made from recyclable\reconditioned parts, it has a low power consumption of 8amps and does not have the inherient problems of other devices when printing onto recycled paper.
